I.
Context
Developed in tandem with the comprehensive renovation of the residence, this landscaping project covers a 2,000 m² plot located in the exclusive enclave of Zagaleta. Given that the property was an investment destined for the market, our primary goal was to strike a perfect balance between contemporary aesthetics, functionality, and environmental sustainability. We focused on creating an attractive, harmonious environment that would maximize the property’s market value while strictly adhering to the principles of efficiency and deep respect for the natural surroundings.
II.
Design
The garden design was structured into distinct zones, adhering to xeriscaping principles and water-efficiency criteria. Irrigation requirements were strategically mapped: higher-moisture zones were concentrated around the pool and the main entrance—where the client requested natural lawn—while the rest of the terrain was planted with native species adapted to the Mediterranean climate, significantly reducing maintenance and water consumption. Furthermore, the plant selection focuses on fostering biodiversity by attracting pollinators and butterflies, while existing mature trees were preserved to maintain the site’s original identity and character.
III.
Interventions
Biophilic design elements were integrated throughout the main areas, such as the sculptural Corten steel fountain on the main terrace—blending the soothing presence of water with the material's natural aging process.
A new poolside living area was created, featuring a pergola, outdoor kitchen, dining area, and chill-out space, complemented by a sculptural shower nestled in lush greenery that serves as the centerpiece of the ensemble.
The intervention also included a complete renovation of the pool and its surrounding deck, the revegetation of slopes through terracing, and the expansion of the parking area with contemporary designer lighting. Finally, a seamlessly integrated restroom and storage unit were added near the leisure zone, resulting in an outdoor space that is functional, elegant, and fully coherent with its surroundings.

Synthesis
This project embodies the Aureum Terram philosophy: creating spaces that blend beauty, balance, and sustainability. Every design decision was made with the purpose of generating a complete sensory experience, where water, greenery, and natural materials engage in a harmonious dialogue. The result is a contemporary landscape that not only enhances the property but invites well-being—breathing with its environment and evolving over time.
